Just Transition Project Overview

Context & Challenges

Tourism businesses often faced a mix of digital challenges:

  • Outdated or underperforming websites that didn’t reflect their brand or drive results.
  • Ineffective booking and conversion journeys, leading to lost revenue.
  • Slow site performance and poor mobile usability.
  • Gaps in SEO, content strategy and accessibility.
  • Confusion around agency roles, scopes and timelines.
  • Limited internal technical knowledge, making it hard to confidently commission or evaluate web development projects.

I worked with clients to navigate these issues, ensuring projects stayed on track while improving clarity, accountability and outcomes.

My Consultancy Role

I acted as a strategic advisor and independent expert, working alongside clients and third-party agencies.

My responsibilities included:

  • Auditing existing websites to identify issues and opportunities (web and accessibility audit).
  • Producing clear, actionable reports and recommendations.
  • Defining website requirements and detailed briefs.
  • Supporting clients in procuring and selecting web agencies.
  • Objectively reviewing agency proposals and scopes of work.
  • Providing structured feedback on designs and builds.
  • Testing and reviewing completed websites against design, development, performance, SEO and accessibility standards.

All design and development work was carried out by external agencies, with my role focused on guidance, validation and quality assurance.
